Technical Data "Global Series"

A zinc coating with electrical conductivity is formed, similar to zinc plating, and the zinc acts as a sacrificial anode to protect the iron from rust.

Research on rust prevention had already been conducted in 1942 at the Cambridge Metallurgical Research Institute in the UK, revealing that to achieve rust prevention equivalent to that of zinc plating, more than 95% zinc was required in the dry paint film. The Robal series is a high-concentration zinc powder coating (zinc-rich paint) designed based on these findings, containing as much as 96% zinc powder in the Robal and Epobal coatings. (However, Robal Silver is designed with 83% zinc content, and Robal Alpha with 92% zinc content.) Therefore, when the Robal series is applied, it creates a zinc coating with electrical conductivity similar to that of zinc plating, with zinc acting as a sacrificial anode to prevent rust on iron. This rust prevention method of the Robal series features the characteristic that rust does not spread from even the smallest pinholes or scratches in the coating. ● For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.

[Product Introduction Case] Repair of Cut Surfaces and Welded Areas

Two coats are applied to achieve the desired film thickness! Roval is suitable for repairing cut surfaces and welds.

When cutting or welding galvanized components, the coating in those areas can peel off. Using Robal allows for easy repair of the peeled areas and prevents rust. Especially at cut edges and welds, it is difficult to achieve the proper film thickness, so applying two coats properly is key to the repair. [Case Summary] ■ Coating Area: Grating (Drain Cover) ■ Product Used: Robal / Robal Alpha ■ Repair Point: Apply two coats to achieve the desired film thickness *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Product Introduction Case] Repainting from General Coating

If you repaint with Robal, it won't rust for the next 10 years! Here are some tips for repainting.

Rust inevitably occurs on the steel frame parts that were painted with general paint. To prevent rust from occurring in the future, we will introduce a case where rust and old paint were removed, and two coats of Robal were applied for repainting. The key point of repainting is that, even if using active films or rust-proof paints from other companies, it is important to remove them using power tools to expose a clean metal surface. Ten years have passed since the construction, and no rust has occurred. 【Case Overview】 ■ Painted Area: Steel frame of the eaves of a logistics warehouse ■ Product Used: Robal ■ Repainting Key Point: Remove rust and old paint to expose the metal surface *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Global Case Study] Renovation of a Mechanical Multi-Story Parking Garage

One-component quick-drying type that does not require primer or topcoat! Case study of the renovation of old galvanized steel.

We would like to introduce a case study of the renovation of a mechanical multi-story parking lot that has implemented our product "Robal." In a zinc-coated mechanical parking lot installed in a condominium, red rust had begun to appear due to aging, necessitating repainting and repairs. However, painting on zinc-coated surfaces is generally prone to peeling, raising concerns about adhesion and stability. Therefore, we introduced our product, which is suitable for zinc-coated repairs. As a result, there was no need for a primer or topcoat, and painting on the zinc coating, which is considered difficult, was achieved with stability. [Case Study] ■ Location: Multi-story parking lot of a certain condominium in Oita Prefecture ■ Project Overview: Renovation of old zinc coating ■ Product Used: Robal *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
