●Current Sensor Current clamp cores (clamp meters) measure by clamping around the power line, and for applications requiring high sensitivity, permalloy is sometimes used. One example is the ZCT (Zero Sequence Current Transformer) used in distribution panels for leakage circuit breakers, which employs highly sensitive permalloy to reliably detect even minor electrical leaks. ●EI Core This is a core shaped literally like an "E" or "I."
