"The all-cardboard packaging for large copiers" is a successful case study of packaging design for a 600kg heavy item "large copier" for Ricoh, which won the Chairman's Award from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2011. It achieved a 54% reduction in packaging costs and a 63% reduction in packaging material weight, eliminating the need for sorting and disposal. The "Suspended Packaging for Film Roll Products" is a successful case of packaging design for Nitto Denko, which won the Logistics Award in 2017. By reducing the types of packaging materials and accommodating a variety of products, we were able to cover 26 different products with just three types of packaging materials! 【Before Improvement, We Faced These Issues】 ■ Before implementation, different packaging materials were used for each product. ■ The use of multiple types of packaging materials resulted in bulky storage space. ■ Some packaging materials were not made of cardboard, which was harmful to the environment. *Please refer to the PDF available for download for details on the effects and benefits after improvement.
