Considerations on Measurement Speed with Spectrum Analyzers
Detailed information on how the speed of general spurious measurements is improved.
The measurement speed of spurious signals is mainly determined by the sweep speed of the spectrum analyzer. When the spurious radiation limits are strict with conventional swept spectrum analyzers, measurements can take several hours, and in some cases, it may take a whole day. This application note demonstrates the differences in sweep speed between conventional swept spectrum analyzers and state-of-the-art spectrum analyzers equipped with wideband FFT processing capabilities, explaining how the speed of general spurious measurements can be significantly improved.
