2-axis screw compressor flow analysis

Introduction to a fluid analysis simulation of a two-axis screw compressor using SimericsMP+ and SCORG for thermal fluid analysis.

CFD allows for the shortening of product development periods, reduction of prototype costs, and acquisition of detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples using Simerics' CAE/CFD software that can be beneficial for product development. Two-axis screw compressors have applications in refrigeration and air conditioning-related fields, such as air conditioners and refrigerators. In the design process, a significant amount of cost and time must be spent on prototyping and experiments. With Simerics' CFD, high-performance thermal fluid analysis can be processed quickly through large-scale parallel computing, allowing for easy and rapid acquisition of results. Additionally, the cooling lubricant is analyzed using the VOF method, recreating conditions close to actual experiments. This is expected to significantly reduce man-hours and costs! There are still many reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. Please check the link below or feel free to contact us!

Fluid analysis for automotive oil lubrication, "Simerics MP+"

Fluid analysis software for volumetric pumps such as gear pumps and vane pumps! CFD software specialized for pumps that other CFD software struggles with!

PumpLinx is a fluid analysis software designed to calculate the transient characteristics of various volumetric pumps, compressors, and valves. It is developed based on the thermal fluid analysis software Simerics MP and utilizes all the features of Simerics MP. 【The following fluid analyses are possible】 ■ Free surface flow ■ Flow considering the compressibility of air contained in liquids ■ Pressure pulsation and water hammer effects ■ Coupling of pump flow with the rigid body motion of valves and cam rings ■ Flow in low to medium vacuum conditions ■ Compressible flow (subsonic) ■ Cavitation ■ Time variation of flow field (velocity vectors, pressure), flow rate, fluid forces, and torque The greatest strength is the ability to automatically create meshes with clearances in the µm range, which is difficult for other general-purpose fluid analysis software!! Recently, there has been an increase in achievements with oil pumps for automobiles and construction machinery, such as vane pumps for power steering and CVT, and trochoidal pumps for engine lubrication. *There is a lot of information that cannot be posted online. In particular, we encourage you to see the actual mesh creation and movement through a demonstration!

Today's ANSYS: Analysis of Water Purification Treatment Using UV Sterilization Equipment

Introduction to the analysis of water purification treatment using ultraviolet sterilization devices.

I would like to introduce information that highlights how CAE and CFD are beneficial to society, along with interesting application examples, primarily through articles from the information magazine "ADVANTAGE" published by ANSYS, Inc. and ANSYS Japan Co., Ltd. This time, I will discuss the analysis of water purification treatment using ultraviolet sterilization devices. ANSYS Fluent is equipped with numerous radiation models, and in this case, we will simulate using the DO model and model various microorganisms with DPM (Lagrangian), which is a somewhat unique example. When I first saw this case, I thought it might not fall within the realm of CFD (fluid analysis), but depending on how it is used, there seems to be potential for increased applications. We will incorporate the total amount of ultraviolet light (UV Dose) that bacteria receive while flowing through the ultraviolet sterilization device using a UDF (User Defined Function). In the tap water we use and drink in our daily lives, ultraviolet irradiation devices are reportedly always used for sterilization (to kill chlorine-resistant bacteria such as Cryptosporidium). In other words, if we could improve the sterilization efficiency by even an average of 1% at the countless water purification plants across the country, it would create a significant impact.

Simulation analysis

We have a track record of temperature drainage forecasts, factory drainage forecasts, LNG drainage forecasts, and district heating and cooling drainage forecasts!

We would like to introduce our "Simulation Analysis." By using numerical analysis with computers, we can accurately predict the distribution of waves, currents, and water quality in marine areas. This allows for precise reproduction of marine phenomena and enables higher accuracy in analysis. We conduct various predictions, including thermal and cold water discharge forecasts, water quality predictions, turbidity forecasts, and current condition forecasts. Depending on the purpose of the prediction, we can incorporate various physical processes into the model and perform the analysis. 【Types of Predictions】 ■ Thermal and Cold Water Discharge Forecasts ■ Water Quality Predictions ■ Turbidity Forecasts ■ Current Condition Forecasts ■ Wave Forecasts *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
