Monitoring cable temperature, stress load, and burial depth all at once, unaffected by weather or environmental conditions, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Actively being implemented in Europe!
In recent years, as the power generation business using renewable energy has become more active, the introduction of offshore wind power generation facilities is also progressing rapidly.
Power generation equipment is designed to operate for an average of 20 to 30 years, making annual and constant maintenance extremely important. Among these, the power cables buried on the seabed have limited methods for continuous monitoring, and sometimes these methods are not fully effective.
The optical fiber-based information system that our company handles can establish a continuous monitoring system without the need to attach additional sensors to the cables, even for existing equipment, by utilizing communication fibers attached to the target cables.
Based on the information obtained from the optical fibers, we provide management of cable burial depth, temperature information, stress load information, and load information on the wires, contributing to the health and longevity of the cables.
Additionally, since distance information can also be obtained from the optical fibers, it is possible to detect abnormal locations with high accuracy in the event of an anomaly. This can also reduce the time required to confirm abnormal locations using conventional ROVs.
