Koizumi Seima Co., Ltd. announced on April 11 that it has released a multifunctional soil management sheet made of silicone material, tentatively named "Silicone Canvas" (patent pending), developed with knowledge and technology from the civil engineering industry to address issues related to secondary disaster prevention and weed management on slopes around infrastructure.
◆Suppressing Soil Erosion, Weathering, and Weeds
On slopes around infrastructure, there is a demand for labor-saving solutions and reductions in herbicide and running costs.
This sheet features the company's unique special processing, which provides moderate permeability to prevent soil erosion and suppresses soil weathering and weed growth, such as slope collapse. Additionally, the back of the sheet is bonded with polyester non-woven fabric, which acts as a cushioning material against the ground.
The raw material silicone is a synthetic resin with a structure formed by alternating silicon and oxygen in siloxane bonds. It has high durability, maintains quality, and exhibits excellent heat resistance and cold resistance from -100 to 300 degrees, making it difficult to ignite even at high temperatures.
As a result, it remains soft when laid outdoors, with no concerns about changes in quality or cracking.
By laying this sheet, it becomes possible to reduce material waste, extend service life, maintain quality, and prevent weeds, meeting the needs of the civil engineering industry.
