We would like to introduce the G3100 RTK observation case from the Coexistence Environment Course at Iwate University Faculty of Agriculture. During the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, tsunamis surged in from both the Hirota Bay side and the Pacific Ocean side. Due to ground subsidence, seawater that flooded the reclaimed land could not be drained, and the Hirota Town area became an isolated island for several days. Investigating the subsidence situation became urgent for the restoration of agricultural land and reclaimed land. As a result, the efficiency of the investigation has been improved through RTK positioning using GNSS surveying equipment, with the PENTAX G3100, compatible with GLONASS and GPS, actively utilized on-site.
