Stainless steel butt-weld pipe fittings (for piping)

This is a butt-welded pipe fitting compatible with stainless steel pipes for piping (JIS G 3459).

Benkang Kiko's welded pipe fittings inherit the technological expertise cultivated by Nippon Benkan Kogyo, established in 1947, and Nittetsu Sumitomo Kiko, which has been manufacturing since 1953. They are capable of handling various materials, not only carbon steel but also stainless steel, alloy steel, and non-ferrous metals, as well as a wide range of diameters from 1/2 to 80 inches, enabling them to adapt to various piping environments (design and usage conditions). Additionally, they have obtained various certifications necessary for production, such as JIS and ISO 9001, and have a robust technical and quality assurance system to support these certifications.

Forged steel fittings for thermal power plants

We can respond to the special shapes of welded pipe fittings used in boiler applications with high technical skills!

It is a joint that makes you think it could be a sculpture, finished to a stunning degree. This is made by "cutting out," which means it is created by machining from forged material, not through plastic processing. Among the welded pipe joints used in boiler-related applications at thermal power plants, there are products with large and special shapes that cannot be made through plastic processing (stretching, compressing, bending, or pulling steel materials). For such requests, we manufacture by cutting from forged materials rather than using conventional plastic processing. The shapes mainly include Y-PIECE, which branches at the same angle from one direction; LATERAL, which branches at an angle like a branch from one direction; and T-PIECE, which branches in a T shape. The diameters primarily range from 400 to 800 mm, with some larger ones weighing around 10 tons. Since these products are used under extremely harsh conditions, the specifications include strict component regulations for the materials used and heat treatment conditions based on the technical standards for power generation thermal equipment. Not only do the shapes need to fit, but we also conduct UT tests on the materials, tensile tests, impact tests, hardness tests, and penetration tests on the products, and we provide the final products only after all tests are cleared.

Welded pipe fittings for piping [non-ferrous metals]

Benkan Kiko also manufactures welded pipe fittings made from non-ferrous metals.

"Non-ferrous metals" refer to metals that are different from "carbon steel," "alloy steel," and "stainless steel," and include types such as "aluminum alloys" and "nickel alloys." Benkan Kiko manufactures welded pipe fittings made from "non-ferrous metals," which are difficult to control in shaping, utilizing the metal plastic processing technology cultivated over many years, and has a wealth of delivery achievements. Additionally, by leveraging various material procurement sources developed over time, we have established a system that can support customers' piping designs by accommodating a wide variety of steel types. We can also handle many other materials, including "Inconel," "Hastelloy," and "Monel," so please contact us for more details. We also introduce "non-ferrous metals" on the Benkan Kiko blog, so please take a look.

Welded pipe fittings with hot-dip galvanized coating

Due to cutting processing, the step of removing the zinc plating adhered to the bevel area is unnecessary!

The product we are introducing this time is the NBG joint, which has undergone cutting processing on its zinc plating. When performing the peeling work of the zinc plating attached to the groove section, leaving any residue and then proceeding with welding can lead to the generation of harmful substances due to the heat effects during welding. Therefore, there is a concern about the generation of harmful substances, and the peeling work creates a burden and hassle on-site. The NBG joint is a welded pipe joint from which the zinc plating attached to the groove section has already been removed through cutting processing. As a result, it eliminates the need for the peeling work process before performing the surrounding welding, alleviating concerns during the welding process and improving work efficiency. The NBG joint is primarily used in air conditioning equipment that creates a comfortable living environment and is active in various fields such as large building facilities and commercial establishments. Please consider the NBG joint, which can eliminate the peeling process and reduce concerns about harmful substance generation as well as the burden and hassle of peeling work. NBG stands for "Non Bevel Galvanized," a unique expression of Benkan Kiko.

Large-diameter welded pipe fittings - branch pipes

Benkan Kiko's large-diameter lateral pipes reduce on-site welding work!

The photo shows a lateral pipe where the branch pipe is connected diagonally to the main pipe. The connection of the branch pipe requires saddle welding on a curved surface, and since the branch pipe is connected at an angle rather than at a right angle, the connection surface becomes elliptical, which demands a very high skill level from the welder. Additionally, a backing plate (pad) is welded to the main pipe using fillet welding. The backing plate is applied to reinforce the piping branch, and when performing prefabrication or on-site piping, there are concerns that directly welding support materials or foot materials to the product may affect the quality of the main pipe and the qualifications of the welders performing that welding. Therefore, the backing plate is used to address such concerns. The manufacturing of this backing plate also requires high forming skills to match the curved shape of the main pipe, but Benkan Kiko is capable of handling this. At Benkan Kiko, we can supply high-quality products through excellent welding technology and precise forming techniques.

Welded pipe fittings made from clad steel

Clad steel generates benefits in various cases, such as reducing overall piping costs and accommodating materials that can only be purchased in rare materials or thin sheets.

Clad steel is a composite material that uses carbon steel, high-strength steel, low-alloy steel, etc., as the base material, and combines it with a different type of steel on one side through processes such as hot rolling (bonding), welding, or explosive bonding. It allows for the joining of dissimilar metals, enabling the creation of functions that cannot be achieved with a single metal. By combining materials with good corrosion resistance or by using less expensive metals in larger quantities alongside more expensive ones, it is also possible to reduce the overall cost of piping. This type of steel provides advantages in various cases, such as accommodating rare materials or materials that can only be purchased in thin sheets. *The photo shows a cross-section of clad steel, where the combination of dissimilar metals can be seen.
