Start of demonstration experiment for "Pedestrian Detection Navigation" utilizing LPWA beacons.
Detect the presence of pedestrians quickly from several hundred meters away! Can be used to prevent traffic accidents.
Our company will conduct a demonstration experiment of the "Pedestrian Detection Navigation" system, which utilizes the SAN system of the developed IoT location information terminal and car navigation to detect pedestrians near vehicles and notify the vehicle drivers to prevent traffic accidents. The system developed this time takes advantage of the characteristics of LPWA, detecting the radio waves from the SAN tags carried by pedestrians using a dedicated receiving unit connected to the car navigation system installed in the vehicle. It allows for quick awareness of a pedestrian's presence from several hundred meters away. Additionally, the built-in accelerometer in the SAN tag compatible with the pedestrian detection navigation automatically distinguishes whether the pedestrian is walking or stopped. Since it can differentiate between whether the pedestrian is an elderly person, a child, or riding a bicycle, it enables more reliable alerts to drivers using the car navigation terminal. **Overview of the Experiment** - Demonstration Period: Approximately three months from October to December 2019 - Demonstration Area: Aichi Prefecture, Tokyo - Role Distribution: - Pioneer: Provision of navigation compatible with pedestrian detection and technical support - Kato Electric: Development of pedestrian detection navigation and demonstration experiment *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
