Our company, which has tackled odor control measures for various factories, will introduce some case studies. 【Odor Control Measures During Herbal Medicine Manufacturing】 ■ Background While manufacturing herbal medicine in the factory, complaints about odors arose from nearby residents when the air from the room was discharged outdoors. We received inquiries regarding odor control measures during the manufacturing process. Upon inspecting the factory, we found that a large quantity of herbal medicine was being boiled in a large pot, and the extraction process was generating a strong odor. Although exhaust fans were installed, there were no hoods or similar structures above the pot, causing the generated odors to fill the entire room. Our company, which has tackled odor control measures for various factories, will introduce case studies from overseas. 【Odor Control Measures for Automotive Parts Manufacturing Factory (Aluminum Casting)】 ■Background We received a consultation from an automotive parts manufacturing factory in Thailand, which was experiencing odor complaints from surrounding factories and wanted to implement countermeasures. Upon confirming the current situation, we found that the main odors were phenol, burnt smells, and ammonia odors generated during aluminum casting. Although measures such as raising the height of existing exhaust outlets had been implemented, complaints continued unabated. Upon inspecting the factory, we found that after the complaints began, a deodorization system had been installed, and a circulation method was adopted to stop outdoor exhaust and conduct exhaust within the factory.
