Measures to prevent rear-end collisions through vehicle detection on expressway interchanges and flashing warning lights. Case study of the introduction of automation and merging support at Numata IC (NEXCO East Japan).
We would like to introduce the application case of the "Vehicle Warning Device," which was implemented as a safety measure when merging onto the main line from highway management offices and electrical rooms. At Numata IC (NEXCO East Japan), due to the ramp line shape, it was difficult to visually confirm approaching vehicles right before merging, and personnel were previously required for visual checks upon departure. However, with the introduction of this device, the need for personnel has been eliminated, achieving labor savings. The system detects approaching vehicles using radar and alerts the vehicle's interior with warning lights, contributing to improved safety when merging onto the main line and preventing near-miss incidents. 【Product Features】 - Radar detection and flashing warning lights allow for safe confirmation from inside the vehicle even in poor visibility conditions. - Equipped with a regular self-check function, the fail-safe design stops operation in the event of abnormal detection. - Wireless communication via relay devices enables flexible equipment configuration according to the site environment. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Applications/Examples of results
【Solving Such Problems】 ■ When management vehicles and construction vehicles merge onto the main road near the exit of a highway tunnel - The contrast between the outside and the tunnel interior is severe, making it difficult to see approaching vehicles - There are many vehicles operating without headlights, making them hard to see - The performance of vehicles and pavement has improved, making it harder to hear the sound of vehicles 【Track Record】 - Highway tunnel portals - Office entrances near highway interchanges * For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
