basic information
【Lecture Overview】 The metropolitan area is densely populated with buildings, and the central functions of politics, administration, and economy are highly concentrated. It is anticipated that in the event of a major earthquake directly beneath the capital, the human, material, and economic damage would be extremely severe. In this context, the government has revised the Basic Plan for Emergency Measures against a Major Earthquake directly beneath the Capital in June of this year and is preparing for the establishment of a Disaster Management Agency, indicating that disaster prevention policies are transitioning to a new phase. This lecture will take into account these changes and aim to understand the specific responses required from companies for effective disaster prevention and business continuity planning (BCP), as well as the importance of regional collaboration. It will also share perspectives on business continuity and the maintenance of social functions, while looking ahead to the future direction of disaster prevention. 【Lecture Topics】 ■ Cabinet Office initiatives regarding earthquakes directly beneath the capital ■ Importance of BCP for companies ■ Importance of collaboration between companies and local communities ■ Trends towards the establishment of a Disaster Management Agency ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card exchange and networking event (limited to on-site participants)
