basic information
【Lecture Overview】 It has been over 25 years since the PFI Act was enacted in 1999. During this time, the number of PPP/PFI/concession projects has steadily increased, and as of March 31, 2025, there are now over 1,000 projects for which implementation policies have been published (1,154 projects). On the other hand, various troubles related to PFI projects have also increased, with some cases leading to the cancellation of project contracts and even litigation. In this seminar, we will broadly categorize the trouble cases where risks shared between the public and private sectors in PFI projects have actually materialized, and by examining typical cases for each category in detail, we aim to convey to practitioners the content of trouble cases in PFI projects that they should understand, as well as insights into the response policies they should consider for the individual cases they will handle in the future. 【Lecture Topics】 ■ Basic knowledge of PPP/PFI/concessions ■ What are the risks in PFI projects? ■ Examination of trouble cases in PFI projects ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange session
