In hospitals, preventing pressure ulcers in patients is an important issue. Prolonged bed rest and the way body pressure is applied can increase the risk of pressure ulcers. Pressure ulcers not only reduce the quality of life (QOL) for patients but can also lead to prolonged treatment periods and increased medical costs. The monitoring sensor "Techmat" helps protect patient health and reduce the burden on medical staff by monitoring body pressure and detecting pressure ulcer risks early. The Techmat, equipped with 1,024 independent sensor points, can accurately map the body pressure distribution of elderly individuals with millimeter-level precision. It continuously monitors the posture and pressure conditions of elderly patients in bed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When the pressure time on specific areas exceeds a set duration, it sends an alert to staff to encourage repositioning. The Techmat identifies behaviors that pose a risk of falls by detecting in real-time when elderly individuals rise from bed or change their posture to sitting or lying down. When the Techmat detects high-risk behaviors such as getting up, it instantly triggers an alarm notification.
