**Lecture Overview** Currently, there are five concession airports managed by the national government in addition to seven airports in Hokkaido. Based on my experience in creating schemes and overall coordination for the selection of operators for airport concessions during my tenure at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Aviation Bureau, I will explain the current nationwide trend of airport privatization (concessions). Additionally, I will provide a detailed account of the current situation at Hokkaido Airport, where I became the President and CEO in June last year, as well as our future initiatives.
