The countries surrounding us are enhancing their military capabilities and increasing their activities, leading to various threats and challenges such as unilateral changes to the status quo through force in the East China Sea and South China Sea. In response to these threats, the national security strategy, decided by the Cabinet in December 2022, identified "strengthening defense facilities" as one of the top priorities.
