【Lecture Overview】 Toyama City has been promoting a city-wide "compact city development centered on public transportation" for 20 years since the municipal merger in April 2005, in order to adapt to the rapidly progressing population decline and to remain a sustainable city for the future. The city's compact city policy has been highly regarded, having been selected as a national "Environmental Model City," "Future City for the Environment," and "SDGs Future City."
