【Lecture Overview】 In recent years, the term NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) has become increasingly visible in internet media, but the concept of NTN may be somewhat difficult to understand. However, the standardization organization for mobile communications, 3GPP, is steadily advancing the standardization of NTN, and in Japan, mobile phone operators are announcing the launch and plans for services that connect smartphones directly to satellites and HAPS (High Altitude Platforms).
