After the Meiji era, it continued to develop as a transportation hub with a concentration of industries supporting modernization and diverse transportation options. On the other hand, the current situation in front of the station faces challenges such as a lack of pedestrian space and greenery, as well as low commercial aggregation. In response, the Kita Ward is working on urban development around the station, triggered by the relocation of the city hall.
