【Lecture Overview】 Looking ahead at the development of business management, efforts are being made to explore avenues for expansion and collaboration, as well as the promotion of public-private partnerships (PPP), with initiatives for regional expansion progressing in various areas. Additionally, public-private partnerships have been introduced in six concession projects centered around sewerage systems in cities like Hamamatsu and Miyagi Prefecture. In June of the 5th year of Reiwa, the national government presented "Water PPP" as a new PPP method, aiming for the introduction of 200 projects in water supply and sewerage systems over the next decade, indicating significant movement in this area. Furthermore, the adoption of design-build (DB) for pipelines and comprehensive outsourcing is increasing in various locations, and in Akita Prefecture, a model where a public-private investment company takes on projects on a regional scale is also being introduced. This lecture will explain the systems and current status regarding the management, finance, and operational structure of water supply and sewerage projects in Japan, as well as initiatives for public-private partnerships and regional expansion, and will detail the anticipated movements in regional expansion and public-private partnerships in future water supply and sewerage projects. 【Lecture Topics】 ■ Current status of water supply and sewerage projects ■ Movements for business transformation and regional expansion ■ Explanation of PPP/PFI/concessions ■ Explanation of "Water PPP" ■ Trends in regional expansion and PPP/PFI in the water supply and sewerage sector ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange meeting
