A case of utilizing a wheelchair cart for an autonomous delivery robot! Due to its high off-road capability, it can travel safely.
We would like to introduce a case study where our electric mobility base unit has been utilized by LOMBY Inc. LOMBY is a startup company engaged in the development, provision, and service operation of autonomous delivery robots. They are working on solving challenges in the last mile delivery sector, and in 2023, they conducted a demonstration experiment on public roads to deliver products from a Seven-Eleven store in Hachioji City. Since 2022, LOMBY and Suzuki have been exploring the potential of an autonomous delivery robot using a cart (electric mobility base unit) based on Suzuki's electric wheelchair. Suzuki is responsible for the design and development of the electric cart, while LOMBY is conducting prototype development of the autonomous delivery robot, development of the delivery system, and demonstration experiments. In this way, our company envisions applying the electric wheelchair technology we have cultivated over approximately 50 years to develop electric mobility base units (electric carts) as the mobility platform for various robots. 【Features of the Electric Mobility Base Unit】 ■ Rust-proof, waterproof, and dust-proof ■ Off-road capability *For more details, please refer to the PDF document from the [related link] or feel free to contact us.
