[Framed Example] Disassembling a two-panel folding screen and framing it as a single piece.
The frame was custom-made in a red lacquer color to match the obi of the maiko in the painting!
We would like to introduce a case in which we disassembled a two-panel folding screen and framed it into a single picture frame. This very valuable two-panel folding screen has been cherished by a long-established traditional inn since my grandfather's time, but the edges were damaged and the hinges were worn. At the request of the owner, we carefully unrolled the main paper, washed it several times to remove soot, re-backed it, and connected the two paintings. We chose a red lacquer frame to match the color of the obi worn by the maiko in the artwork. 【Case Overview】 ■ Before Framing - The two-panel folding screen was very valuable, but the edges were damaged and the hinges were worn. ■ Framing - Disassembled the two-panel folding screen and framed it into a single picture frame. - Selected a red lacquer frame to match the color of the maiko's obi in the artwork. *For more details, please refer to the related links.
