【Lecture Overview】 There is a growing expectation for the diverse functions of urban green spaces as green infrastructure to address social issues surrounding cities, such as climate change measures, securing biodiversity, and improving well-being. As part of "Urban Development GX," the "Law to Partially Amend the Urban Green Space Act" was enacted on November 8, 2024, to promote the securing of both the quality and quantity of urban green spaces. In particular, seizing the momentum for private investment in the environmental sector, such as ESG investment and sustainability information disclosure, the "Excellent Green Space Securing Plan Certification System (TSUNAG)" was established based on this law, allowing the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to evaluate and certify the efforts of private businesses to secure high-quality green spaces.
