A new breeze breathing from the basics—comfortable spaces start here!
When installing new ventilation or air vents in the foundation, please limit it to foundation concrete without rebar. In structures such as slab foundations, drilling holes in the foundation is prohibited as it may reduce seismic strength. The work procedure is as follows: 1. Determine the position and size of the vent Draw a line on the foundation as a marker according to the size of the vent you want to install. 2. Drill holes Drill multiple holes along the drawn line. 3. Chisel away Using a chisel, carve along the holes made by the drill. At this time, if you use a grinder to smooth the foundation along the line, you will reduce the risk of over-carving unnecessary parts during the chiseling work. 4. Caution when using a grinder When using a grinder, please work while spraying water to suppress dust. 5. Carve from both inside and outside Use the chisel to evenly carve from both the outside and inside to shape it. 6. Finishing Once the rough shape is created with the chisel, wet the surface of the foundation with water and use mortar to smooth out any unevenness. Finally, the work is complete once the mortar has dried.
