[Seminar] Current Status and Challenges of Decommissioning the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant
Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. - Post-accident Transition, Progress of Decommissioning, Decommissioning Work Topics
Our company will hold a business seminar. More than 13 years have passed since the accident in 2011, and with various support from both domestic and international sources, the condition of the plant has stabilized, and significant changes can be observed in the environment within the site and the surrounding area. The decommissioning work is gradually shifting from an emergency response phase following the accident to a more planned approach looking ahead. In this context, there are few precedents for decommissioning an accident reactor, and we are making progress step by step by gathering wisdom from both domestic and international sources to tackle the technically challenging tasks. This lecture will provide a detailed explanation of the changes from the accident to the present, the progress of decommissioning, the status of efforts to address challenges, and recent topics related to decommissioning work.
