New high-performance lithium-ion battery fire blanket that demonstrates high functionality in both heat resistance and abrasion resistance.
- The wear resistance has been significantly improved by a unique double-sided coating based on high heat-resistant silica glass fiber (vermiculite: expanded mica). - Maximum tensile strength of 394 N after reaching 1100 degrees (609 N before testing). - The fabric does not burst even after 30 minutes at 1200 degrees. - At 1300-1500 degrees, it lasts for about 10 minutes. - The above features have been evaluated as the only reusable product through comparative verification with other products by a third-party organization. - Three types: Body size, bag storage size, weight (including bag) - S: 1.7m × 2.0m, 520 × 300 × 70 mm, 3.7 kg - M: 2.6m × 3.3m, 540 × 350 × 140 mm, 8.3 kg - L: 6.0m × 8.0m, 1020 × 440 × 250 mm, 44.4 kg - Usable for ordinary fires as well. - The usage method is to completely cover the burning material and eliminate air inflow by bringing the blanket as close to the burning material as possible to eliminate gaps. - Increasing overseas achievements.

basic information
Lithium battery fires pose a risk of high temperatures during thermal runaway, leading to equipment explosions, shrapnel, and the release of toxic gases. Therefore, products with high heat resistance and wear resistance are in demand. Products with high wear resistance can also be reused. - Vermiculite is a fire extinguishing material listed in our country's fire protection law. - AVD = AQUEOUS VERMICULITE DISPERSION (vermiculite solution) - Headquarters: Dupre Minerals (UK), AVD Fire Division - Contact: Domestic agent Machikado Disaster Prevention Lab (MBL) e-mail: machikadolabo@jcom.zaq.ne.jp URL: https//mb-l.net

Company information
For about 40 years at a fire equipment company, I worked on residential fire prevention outside of regulatory frameworks for the last 13 years. I developed Japan's first "initial fire extinguishing device using tap water," the "Street Fire Hydrant," and later the backpack-style "Street Fire Harrier," obtaining public evaluations and patents to promote their use. By the end of July 2024, we have achieved a total of 1,140 units installed, primarily in traditional building preservation districts and around cultural properties, focusing on municipalities, voluntary disaster prevention organizations, and neighborhood associations. Unlike regulatory fire equipment, these are persuasive products, so it takes time to deliver them, but there have been successful cases in actual fires, which have been well received. Six years ago, after retiring at the mandatory retirement age for executives, I established a company hoping to expand operations with a certain equipment manufacturer, but due to the nature of the products, it did not go well, and I liquidated the company last year, continuing my previous business as a sole proprietor. The production system for the products, installation, renovation work, and inspection services are still being outsourced as before. Additionally, for the past three years, I have been working with certain fire equipment manufacturers, metal-related associations, and research institutions to commercialize a new extinguishing agent (AVD extinguishing agent: made in the UK) for domestic sales. The intended use is for lithium-ion battery fires and metal fires. This issue is still an area where regulatory solutions are insufficient.
