3D Laser Scanner Trimble X9 Perspective
Nikon Trimble Trimble X9 Perspective
A next-generation 3D laser scanner that breaks common sense for measurement, civil engineering, and i-Construction.
The Trimble X9 is a ground-based 3D laser scanner that consolidates Trimble's laser scanning technology and further enhances its performance. It evolves the ground-based laser scanner "Trimble X7," which has a strong track record in surveying, construction, and architecture worldwide, while maintaining the high-precision automatic leveling, automatic stitching functions, and calibration features of the Trimble X7. Additionally, the design of the center unit has been revamped. Signal processing necessary for improving scan quality has been enhanced, allowing for reliable and fast scanning of low-reflectivity objects and glossy surfaces such as stainless steel.

basic information
Scanning speed: 1,000,000 points per second, scanning distance: mid-range model with a maximum of 150m. Trimble Registration Assist feature (point cloud verification through automatic synthesis using IMU to prevent re-measurement) / High sensitivity mode equipped (ensures scanning of low reflectivity objects). Auto-calibration function (automatic leveling with ±10° tilt = 3″ accuracy, correction for internal equipment temperature and surrounding environmental temperature, distance correction using albedo, monitoring of vibrations during scanning). Labeling and annotation feature (leaves information from the field in images or text, linking photos and information to 3D positions). Equipped with 'Georeference' for coordinate transformation using targets set at known points in the field / allows for coordinate marking on-site. Diverse output data groups (E57 / RCP / POD / PTX / LAS, and TZF / TDX that can be deployed in Trimble RealWorks and Trimble Business Center). Immediately after scanning, check for observation omissions and point density in the 3D point cloud view and station view (Perspective software).

Detailed information
-
The biggest feature of the Trimble X9 system is its ability to automatically and accurately synthesize point clouds between stations measured at a range of 150 meters and at a rate of 1 million points per second. After the scan is completed, the Trimble X9 automatically transfers all data to a tablet using high-speed Wi-Fi communication. The Perspective software, which operates on a tablet PC, synthesizes the point clouds obtained between stations quickly and reliably using its unique logic.
-
Self-Fort Calibration The Trimble X9 performs a self-check before starting the scan to maintain scanning accuracy and automatically carries out calibration. This calibration is performed for each scan and takes only 25 seconds. With this feature, unlike previous surveying instruments, the Trimble X9 can maintain accurate scans even when set up roughly. Additionally, because calibration is done for each scan, the instrument can be safely used over long periods.

Measurement and confirmation of many items on-site, such as point cloud slicing. With the Perspective software, it is possible to measure "height, width, length," etc., from the point cloud. Being able to measure on-site allows for immediate understanding of dimensions, such as confirming the height to the bridge pier, which is also useful for securing the route for heavy machinery. Additionally, especially in indoor scan measurements, there are often cases where the point cloud of the areas to be checked cannot be displayed due to the presence of point clouds from the ceiling or floor. However, by using the slicing function, it is possible to freely limit the display range and easily check the point cloud.

Equipped with high sensitivity mode The Trimble X9 can scan objects with low reflectivity that conventional laser scanners could not. By changing the wavelength (frequency) of the emitted laser, it can reliably scan asphalt and dark-colored objects as well.

NT Geotex Co., Ltd. is a company that proposes a total solution for BIM, CIM, architecture, civil engineering, equipment, surveying, and 3D measurement as a special agent for Nikon and Trimble. We support not only the sale of surveying and measuring equipment but also provide proposals considering our customers' operations and follow-up services on behalf of the manufacturers. In the recent construction industry, technologies such as AR and MR, which were not common a few years ago, have been adopted, and we feel the rapid changes in the era. We are also working daily to adapt to such changes. We aim to be a partner company that continuously excites our customers and is chosen by various clients across different industries, flexibly responding to challenges faced by the construction industry, such as "labor shortages," "aging," and "efficiency of work," as well as the introduction of new technologies necessary for solving these issues.
