We will hold a seminar titled "Kansai Electric Power: Current Status, Challenges, and Future Developments of Hydropower Generation." Hydropower, which has a long history, is an important energy source that utilizes the power of water, a natural resource, as a renewable energy source. It excels in supply stability, economic viability, and environmental friendliness, and is also crucial for energy security. As we move towards a carbon-neutral society by 2050, the importance of existing hydropower facilities is increasing. However, many hydropower plants are located in mountainous and remote areas, facing challenges such as the proper maintenance and operation of aging facilities, securing business operators, and adapting to diverse working styles.
