Circular Economy: Domestic and International Trends in Plastic Recycling and Catalytic Decomposition Technology
Our company will hold a seminar titled "Development of Chemical Recycling Technology for Plastics and Future Challenges." Recycling plastics, alongside metals, is an urgent issue in achieving the global challenge of a circular economy. In Japan, the goal is to achieve zero simple incineration and landfill by 2035. Currently, over 8 million tons of plastic are discarded, with polyolefins, represented by polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene, accounting for about 70% of this waste. Establishing recycling technologies for these materials is a significant challenge. This presentation will particularly focus on chemical recycling technology, discussing domestic and international trends, the development status of our catalytic decomposition technology, and detailing the technical and social challenges necessary to realize plastic recycling. Seminar Details ■ Date and Time: July 30 (Tuesday) 16:30-18:30 (Doors open at 16:00) ■ Speaker NEDO Project Project Leader of the "Innovative Plastic Resource Circulation Process Technology Development" project Professor Masahiko Matsukata Waseda University, Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Department of Applied Chemistry *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
