Towards the improvement of 'well-being/high quality of life' through 'new growth'
Our company will hold a seminar titled "Ministry of the Environment: Key Points of the Sixth Basic Environmental Plan and Directions for Environmental Policy." On May 21, 2024, the Sixth Basic Environmental Plan was approved by the Cabinet. This plan follows the philosophy established since the First Plan while taking into account the current crises in the environment, economy, and society, and it presents the next steps for the integrated improvement of the environment, economy, and society centered around environmental issues. It also sets as its highest objective the "well-being/high quality of life" of each citizen, both now and in the future, through environmental conservation, emphasizing the importance of achieving "new growth" that enhances both market and non-market values through the high value-added transformation of the entire economy utilizing "environmental value." In this lecture, we will provide an overview of the Sixth Basic Environmental Plan and elaborate on the future directions of environmental policy.
