The IC-DU45 (ICDU45) is a digital simple radio license station 3B/3C/3D manufactured by Icom. It is a new model compatible with 75 channels plus 10 relay channels, increasing the total by up to 20 channels. It supports the frequency expansion announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in 2023 for digital simple radios (DCR). It features a sub-channel PTT function that allows for one-touch selection of assigned communication partners using the main and two sub-channel PTTs. With a speaker output of 1500mW, it ensures clear audio even in noisy environments. It is Bluetooth compatible, allowing the use of Bluetooth earphone microphones, speaker microphones, and headsets. It includes a VOX function that automatically transmits audio in response to sound, enabling hands-free operation. Battery life is approximately 16.5 hours when using a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack (2280mAh) BP-280, and about 23 minutes when using a battery case with five AA alkaline batteries (BP-312). This is based on power save mode being ON, output at 5W, and a transmission-reception-waiting ratio of 5:5:90.
