basic information
The newly designed IOW centrifugal oil separator can significantly impact engine lifespan, oil change intervals, and many other long-term benefits within organizations by efficiently removing more harmful contaminants from lubricating oil than any other pressure-driven centrifugal separator in the world. The IOW Group's patented centrifugal oil separator comes standard with a sludge monitoring system (separator control unit) and features a unique bowl disc technology that was previously used in conventional large centrifugal separators. The existing engine-mounted centrifugal oil separator has been replaced by the new IOW MP600 centrifugal oil separator on auxiliary engine No. 1. At the same time, an existing older technology centrifugal oil separator was retained on auxiliary engine No. 4 for comparison purposes. At a pressure of 4.6 bar, the MP600 recorded a speed of 4062 rpm on a remote monitoring device with a runtime of 200 hours. What is particularly important in this comparison is that the oil conditions of both auxiliary engines No. 1 and No. 4 are the same. It has become possible to separate 3.4 g more sludge per hour.
