We will hold a seminar on "Efforts Towards the Realization of the Green Food System Strategy." The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries formulated the "Green Food System Strategy" in 2021 to build a sustainable food system and is promoting initiatives at various stages, including procurement of materials and energy, production of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and food, distribution and processing, and consumption. Additionally, it provides support in terms of budget, financing, and taxation to certified producers and material and machinery manufacturers based on the "Green Food System Act" enacted in 2022. Furthermore, starting from fiscal year 2024, the Ministry will trial the "Cross Compliance" system, which mandates minimum environmental impact reduction efforts for all its subsidy projects, and is considering a framework to support advanced farming initiatives towards fiscal year 2027. This seminar will detail the trends in the greening of the Ministry's policy methods.
