Case Study: Using Chigaya Sheet® for Weed Control as a Countermeasure Against Terrorism Around International Port Facilities
◆Customer Concerns◆ - Around international port facilities, it is desirable to maintain clear visibility around the fence as a counter-terrorism measure, in accordance with the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations concerning the security of international port facilities. However, even after mowing, weeds quickly grow back, making it difficult to maintain visibility when weeds are overgrown, which is not favorable for the security of international port facilities. ◆Proposal Points◆ - By laying down a Chigaya sheet around the fence, visibility can be consistently improved, and long-term labor for mowing can be reduced. - To suppress weeds growing from the gaps between concrete curbs and pavement joints, the sheet was extended to the road-side pavement, and it was secured with adhesive and asphalt pins. ◆Customer Feedback After Installation◆ - The areas where the sheet was laid have maintained good visibility without the need for mowing, allowing compliance with regulations. - We would like to continue using it.
