We would like to introduce a case where a vertical barrier was adopted as a measure to prevent vehicle entry!
Here is a case study of our installation in the arcade street of Sendai City. We adopted a vertical barrier as a measure to prevent vehicle access to the arcade street. With a height of 850mm, it is easily visible to pedestrians, ensuring safety. Reinforcement materials are incorporated within the support structure, taking into account potential contact from vehicles, while the design blends seamlessly into the streetscape of Sendai, the city of trees. "Car stops" are products that not only regulate vehicle access but also protect people from cars and provide a safe space for individuals. With this people-centered approach, we have proposed new value and design for car stops. In the rapidly changing modern world, we aim to create products that allow people to spend time in spaces such as "streets," "facilities," and "parks," which are places for communication, with comfort and enrichment. We strive to focus on creating items that match a friendly environment and landscape.
