A long-scale counter called a continuum. Theoretically, it is possible to create an infinitely long counter without vertical joints.
Generally, wood becomes expensive when it exceeds 4 meters, but it is common for restaurant counters to exceed this length. By joining domestic timber, specifically 45×45×4000mm cypress, at an angle, we created a long-scale counter without vertical joints. The diagonal texture that appears reaffirms the beauty of the wood by using Yoshino cypress, creating a refined space.

By adding an angle to the general-purpose Yoshino cypress measuring 45×45×4000mm and laminating it, we have managed to reduce costs and create a long-scale counter (theoretically infinite) without vertical joints. The diagonal joint texture that appears, using Yoshino cypress, cultivates a refined space. Additionally, the striped grain means that the space in which it is used is not limited to traditional Japanese settings (the stripes do not belong to either Japanese or Western styles). Furthermore, by tapering the sides in reference to the blade of a sukiya (tea house), we have achieved a more refined finish.
