Introducing examples of the permeable and water-retaining pavement material "Color Sand"! <Hachioji New Town (Tokyo)> *Installed in 1997
In the pedestrian walkway within the residential complex near JR Yokohama Line's Hachioji Minamino Station, developed as Hachioji New Town, permeable and water-retaining colored sand paving materials were adopted in 1997. Although more than a quarter of a century has passed since the construction, there is hardly any significant damage, and the condition is very good. This truly demonstrates one of the characteristics of permeable and water-retaining colored sand paving materials: their long lifespan. *Photographed in May 2023.
