The handheld hardness tester is a compact and lightweight ultrasonic vibration measurement device that can easily measure hardness. When a diamond indenter attached to a vibrating rod is pressed against the surface being measured with a constant load, softer materials will have deeper indentations and stronger fixation, resulting in a higher resonance frequency. Conversely, harder materials will have shallower indentations and weaker fixation, leading to a lower resonance frequency. The correlation between resonance frequency and hardness is established, allowing for hardness conversion.
