Heat conduction experimental apparatus
This is a tabletop experimental device for comparing and verifying the thermal conductivity and heat transfer rates of various metals. The heat transfer experimental device consists of a heater power supply and a measurement data display, and experiments are conducted by attaching one of the options TD1002a to d (sold separately). The heat transfer experimental device (TD1002) supplies variable current to the heater of the optional device, and a safety switch prevents the heater from overheating. In the spare space on the right side of the device, an optional (sold separately) data automatic collection system (VDAS-F) can be installed, allowing for real-time collection and analysis of various data on a PC (sold separately) using the data automatic collection system.

【TD1002a Linear Directional Heat Conduction Device】 This device measures the thermal conductivity of various metals using the temperature gradient method by reading the temperatures while heat is conducted through standard and test samples in rod form. The device consists of three types of parts: an electric heater with three thermocouples, a water cooling system with three thermocouples, and a test specimen (middle section) with one thermocouple. Cold water is circulated through the water cooling system, and after adjusting the heater power until the device temperature reaches equilibrium, the temperatures at which heat is conducted through the rod are recorded. The area around the metal rod is insulated, reducing heat loss due to convection and radiation, allowing results to be obtained based on linear heat conduction theory.
-
【TD1002b Radial Heat Conduction Device】 It consists of a disk test piece (diameter 175mm, thickness 5mm) with an electric heater in the center and cooling pipes flowing around it. The temperature distribution of the heat conducted radially from the heater at the center of the disk is measured. Cold water is circulated, and the heater power is adjusted until the device temperature reaches equilibrium, measuring the temperature that propagates from the heater to the outer circumference at seven locations on the disk using thermocouples. The area around the disk is insulated, reducing heat loss due to convection and radiation, allowing results to be obtained based on radial heat conduction theory.

【TD1002c Enlarged Surface Heat Transfer Device】 It is a brass rod test piece (diameter 10mm, length 300mm) with an electric heater attached at one end. The rod is coated with a matte black finish to ensure that the emissivity has a consistent and predictable value. Heat is conducted along the rod and transferred to the surroundings through natural convection and radiation. The temperature of the rod's surface is measured using thermocouples arranged at equal intervals, allowing for the prediction of temperature and heat flow along the rod based on the experimental results.

【TD1002d Liquid and Gas Heat Transfer Device】 This device consists of three cylinders: an electric heater (heat source) cylinder at the center, a cylinder for filling the test fluid (liquid or gas) surrounding it, and a water cooling cylinder surrounding that. By adjusting the electric heater output and the cooling water circulation rate, it measures the heat loss of the liquid or gas. The temperatures of the inner and outer walls of the test liquid or gas cylinder are measured and displayed digitally. The thermal insulation caps at both ends of the cylinder minimize heat loss, but by taking heat loss into account during measurement, the accuracy of the experiment can be improved.
