The seismic intensity, which indicates the magnitude of an earthquake, has 10 levels ranging from 0 to 7. (Since there are variations between intensity 5 and intensity 6, it results in 10 levels.) Gal refers to the acceleration of the earthquake, and the larger the number, the more intense the shaking. This unit is not commonly heard of.
