After completing a year-long demonstration experiment at the Otaru Canal in Hokkaido, we will officially start providing services from May 2022. By analyzing public toilets in real-time from three perspectives: "usage status," "malfunctions/abnormalities," and "hygiene conditions," we can reduce maintenance costs. Additionally, information that can assist with the overall economic activities of the city, crime prevention, and COVID-19 measures can be provided from the city's public toilets. We have obtained a patent for the system that allows us to understand the number of toilet users and handwashing rates based on the usage frequency of toilets and sinks.
