3D Laser Scanner Trimble X7 Perspective
Nikon Trimble Trimble X7 Perspective
Measuring and Civil Engineering / i-Construction: A next-generation 3D laser scanner that breaks common sense.
The Trimble X7 Perspective is a ground-based laser scanner that breaks conventional wisdom and paves the way for a new era of "Simple, Smart, Professional." Its unprecedented workflow provides "Easy, Accurate, and Efficient" operations and high-quality results, even for those with no experience in 3D surveying. It is offered as the best solution for customers who have felt many doubts and high hurdles in adopting traditional ground-based laser scanners. Preparation work is unnecessary due to the auto-calibration feature, and real-time fully automated registration allows for automatic point cloud synthesis, even without targets. With a scanning speed of 500,000 points per second, it achieves high precision, and it uses a lightweight carbon GITZO tripod. The Trimble X7 can scan objects with low reflectivity that traditional laser scanners could not. By selecting a high-sensitivity mode and changing the wavelength (frequency) of the emitted laser, it can reliably scan asphalt and dark-colored objects.

basic information
The Trimble X7 is not based on a specification-first approach but is designed with the concept of "Simple, Smart, Professional," focusing on the "simplification of workflows" that are easy, accurate, and efficient. ■ Trimble Registration Assist feature (point cloud verification through automatic synthesis using IMU to prevent re-measurement) / High-sensitivity mode equipped (ensures scanning of low-reflectivity objects) ■ Auto-calibration feature (automatically levels the device with an accuracy of ±10° tilt, corrects for internal device temperature and surrounding environmental temperature, distance correction using albedo, monitors vibrations during scanning) ■ Weight of the main unit is 5.8 kg / Excellent environmental performance (-20° to +50°, IP55, resistant to water and dust with a non-rotating center mirror) / All components can be stored in a backpack ■ Diverse output data formats (E57 / RCP / POD / PTX, and TZF / TDX that can be deployed with Trimble RealWorks and Trimble Business Center) ■ New feature 'Georeference' allows for coordinate transformation using targets placed at known points on site / enables on-site coordinate tagging.

Refined 3D point cloud views and station views The Perspective software displays large point clouds synthesized by an excellent view engine in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. The advantage of being able to check the 3D point cloud synthesized immediately after scanning includes "confirming any missed scans on-site," "checking point density," and "real-time monitoring of work progress," which completely prevents the need for re-measurement.
-
Measurement and confirmation of many items on-site, such as point cloud slicing. With the Perspective software, measurements such as "height, width, and length" can be taken from the point cloud. Being able to measure on-site allows for immediate understanding of dimensions, such as confirming the height to the bridge pier, which is also helpful in securing routes for heavy machinery. Additionally, especially in indoor scanning measurements, there are often cases where the point cloud of the areas to be checked cannot be displayed due to the presence of point clouds from the ceiling or floor. However, by using the slicing function, it is possible to freely limit the display range and easily check the point cloud.
-
Self-Fort Calibration The Trimble X7 performs a self-check before starting the scan to maintain scanning accuracy and automatically carries out calibration. This calibration is performed with each scan and takes only 25 seconds. With this feature, unlike previous surveying equipment, the Trimble X7 can maintain accurate scans even when set up roughly. Additionally, because calibration is done for each scan, the equipment can be safely used over long periods.

Annotation Function In the field, when you want to associate information with any specific location and link it to a 3D point cloud, the annotation function is useful. You can freely take photos of the locations where you want to leave annotation information using the camera on a tablet PC. By simply tapping on the point cloud location that matches the photo position of the scanned data, the photo and the entered information are linked to the specified point cloud location. Annotations are carried over to Trimble office software, which is very helpful for explanations and presentations to third parties regarding the site.

Equipped with high sensitivity mode The Trimble X7 can scan objects with low reflectivity that conventional laser scanners could not. By selecting the high sensitivity mode, it is now possible to reliably scan asphalt and dark-colored objects by changing the wavelength (frequency) of the emitted laser.
