I do not consider existing matching apps to be the optimal solution for meeting people. The reason is that users send a large number of "likes" to edited images and embellished profiles, but only a very small fraction of those leads to actual messages. Even when they do connect, there are fees involved, and often when they meet, the reality does not match their expectations, and so on. Old-generation matching apps have successfully created an image that it is normal for them to take a lot of time and money. Even if you manage to meet someone you want to see, it feels like you are spending more time and money than necessary, leading us to think that we could create a better service ourselves. We aim to facilitate meetings through video calls, which provide more information than text-only exchanges, and to achieve that speed at a fair price.
