For weight control and anti-aging! By taking NMN, you can turn ON the activation switch of the sirtuin genes (longevity genes)!
NMN, or β-nicotinamide mononucleotide, is a metabolite of niacin. It is known that NMN is converted into NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) by enzymes, performing various functions. In recent years, it has been expected that the intake of NMN will turn on the activation switch of sirtuin genes (longevity genes). There is also data suggesting that weight gain associated with aging has been suppressed in mice. This component, NMN, decreases in the body with age, and it is believed that this reduction leads to the sirtuin genes not being activated (in an OFF state), contributing to aging. Additionally, NMN is a component found in foods, and it is thought to change in the body as illustrated below (click to enlarge). It is also said that the ingested NMN is temporarily converted to NR before being utilized again as NMN.
