This is an air purifier that utilizes the latest photocatalyst developed by Professor Yokono, a leading expert in photocatalyst research.

Photocatalysts are environmental purification materials that generate a strong oxidative power on their surface when exposed to light, such as sunlight or fluorescent lights, allowing them to remove harmful substances like organic compounds and bacteria that come into contact with them. Conventional indoor photocatalysts were spherical. When exposed to light, they released negative ions and produced metal ions that inactivate harmful substances. However, the released negative ions would recombine, causing 95% of the metal ions to disappear, and the harmful substances were not inactivated. Recently, Professor Yokono developed a columnar photocatalyst. Metal substances are applied only to the pointed parts, creating an escape route for the released negative ions. This reduces the probability of recombination, enabling the inactivation of harmful substances. A liquid that dissolves this photocatalyst has also been created, allowing the photocatalyst within the liquid to decompose harmful substances. This new type of photocatalyst is used in the filters of the fuie space sterilization and deodorization device. Therefore, it can inactivate harmful substances even under weak light.
