The universal material testing machine "6800 Series" is designed for tensile, compression, bending, peeling, puncture, friction, and shear tests. It features customizable soft keys, specimen protection, and precise position adjustment with a jog wheel, all designed with ergonomics in mind in a new type of handset. Additionally, it is equipped with an automatic positioning function that saves the locations of fixture spacing used for each test method. Instron was founded in 1946 by Harold Hindman and George Bahl, who were conducting joint research at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) at the time.
