Natural disasters such as earthquakes, heavy rains, and typhoons occur every year in various parts of Japan. When a disaster strikes, your lifeline is your means of communication. Disaster victims realize how important it is to secure power during emergencies. Therefore, we thought it necessary to ensure that charging can be done sufficiently in nearby locations to respond to large-scale power outages caused by major earthquakes and typhoons. First, we designed a system that can charge more smartphones while also providing lighting in limited indoor spaces. Since fossil fuel and gas generators cannot be used in indoor evacuation shelters, we have adopted a portable power source that does not emit carbon monoxide.
