This document introduces the particle size distribution (particle diameter distribution) and particle shape of sugar. The standard method for measuring the particle size distribution of sugar is sieving in accordance with the ICUMSA Method GS2/9-37, and equivalent results have been obtained in round robin tests conducted across multiple laboratories. However, in practice, each laboratory follows slightly different procedures from the ICUMSA Method guidelines, resulting in significantly different particle size distributions measured by different labs, which is a concern.
