basic information
Birch is a popular wood that is widely used for interior decoration, furniture, and miscellaneous goods due to its many appealing qualities, such as its beautiful and durable grain, resistance to discoloration over time, and reasonable price. The charm of solid birch lies in its finely textured, glossy, and beautiful surface. If the wood is properly dried, it is less prone to warping and has good workability. It is resistant to wear and has shock-absorbing properties, making it suitable for use in schools, gymnasiums, and dance studios. The wood grain does not have a strong contrast, giving it a gentle and elegant impression. Its fine texture provides a pleasant feel and makes it resistant to scratches and water. Another notable characteristic is its resistance to color change over time. While cedar and pine tend to develop a rich amber color with use, birch relatively maintains its original color. Although it is not the cheapest option, it is also not as expensive as high-end woods like teak or walnut, which adds to its appeal. Given its quality, it is available at a more accessible price range, and by choosing grades with knots, costs can be kept down even when used extensively.
